Pink PSP vs. P!ink PSP, or, Classy vs. Trashy

Here at Engadget, we know the terrible ordeal of holiday shopping you're about to face, and we only want to help through this trying time. That's why we've produced this handy guide to pretty pink PSPs, 'cause every little decision counts. So, here's the breakdown: if your sister/girlfriend/mom is skanky (and/or a Sunday Night Football fan), then buy her the P!nk Limited Edition PSP. If your sister/girlfriend/mom is not skanky, buy her the Pink PSP, and toss in Locoroco for good measure -- she deserves it. Don't thank us, we're just glad to help.

Is there really any difference in these products other than the packaging? Are they the same price? Does the P!nk version have a P!ink logo on the PSP somewhere?

Not that I'll be buying either this holiday season. These days I wouldn't tough a Sony product with a 10-foot pole.

Gee Sony, if your going to use somebody's 15 minutes of fame for marketing purposes, you do it during those 15 minutes - not 2 minutes after the fact.

But that's besides the point: nothing says 'big stupid souless corporation' like taking 'product a' and randomly pairing it with 'celebrity x'. Fire your marketing people - they make the Palm Vx Claudia Schiffer Edition look like a very sensible, convincing match-up.

Ok, despiteit being awful lets actually look at the target demographic people. Now there are pleanty of female games who dont fit this stereotype, so dont go biting my head off, but Pinks music is supposed to be anti "plastic celebrity" hence her bloody awful song aboutnot wanting to be popular.

Now the kinda people who listen to her music, in general are those who CANT be popular at school becausethey are too ugly/geeky/spotty. Now these kids get out less because they dont have the friends to go out with, and thus are more likly to play video games.

So to conclude the target audience may actually be bang on for sony.

Now that statement was chockablock with massive sweeping generalisations, but anyone who's done the tinyest bit of advertising knows thats exactly what its all about.

I can't speak for all women, but pink is my favorite color. I'm all over this - not the P!nk version (I just don't want to have to look at her picture on the box), but I can't wait to see the regular pink PSP. I have never been all that interested in the PSP before, but now I'm seriously considering getting one. There is an incredible dearth of products targeted to girl gamers, and I think Sony will clean up on this one.

Its a damn BOX for christ sake? Who keeps the box? They should make more products in differnt colours than black, silver or white.In Japan there are Blue/gold/silver/white/black/camo coloured psps. If you dont like something dont buy it, simple! Complaining retards.
