Why oh why do the engadget editors insist on calling guitars "axes" and referring to several rock culture clichés in every single article relating to guitar technology?
i'm pretty sure they milk the cliche's in every topic thats blogged about. Thats generally how someone makes a mundane topic seem at least somewhat more palpable. besides, it's a blog, not a news site.
The word axe is a perfectly acceptable slang for a guitar. Its been used for many, many years. It's not like Engadget is trying to get us to start using a new slang word and I'm sure that there are much more important things happening on this rock that you could burn your BTU's on.

"Axe" is a perfectly legitimate slang word for *any* instrument, not just guitar. I'd explain why, but people here won't care.
