I thought this would run off the 'sensor bar' power, since it has long been known to be nothing more than an infrared beacon. One could reclaim the plug from the 'sensor' and attach a fan, and reuse the LED part with some batteries... Perfect product reuse! (except for the cord in between)
Somehow I doubt the sensor bar port has nearly enough power to run one of these things. LEDs require incredibly small amounts of electricity to power, whereas fans suck down a fair amount of juice. Regardless, this is at best a waste of money and at worst a device that could add extra load to the power supply and cause problems.
Solomon, this is brilliant. There are 5 LED's on each side of the sensor bar. I'm sure there would be enough power for a small fan. Also, many people already are using products like this http://www.nyko.com/nyko/products/?i=101. Just wait, in 6 months you'll see a "sensor bar port" powered-fan, wireless sensor bar combo pack on store shelves near you.
