Prince brings its tennis racket-making skills to the Wii
While there's certainly no shortage of tennis racket-esque accessories available to make your Wii Tennis experience a tad more realistic, those looking for even more authenticity can will soon be able to turn to a familiar name for their fix, as racker-maker Prince has now announced that it's making the jump into the Wiicessory business. According to IGN, Prince has teamed up with Qualtech Global to produce the rackets, which will be available in your choice of three colors and will apparently be exclusive to Circuit City (at least for the time being), where they'll set you back $15 apiece. You'll have to make do with your imagination for a little while longer though, as the rackets won't be available until November 15th.

wtf...
Still useless.

Don't use that thing around your brand new 70" plasma. It doesn't even have a wrist strap. Imagine the damage that thing will do if you let it fly. Your lamps and other accessories now fear for their lives as well (at least mine would in my small apt).

Or you could not be a DDD and hold on to it.
melloncollie @ Oct 2nd 2007 6:56PM
What the hell is a "DDD"?

Dee-duh-Dee!

Dee-Duh-Dee, that's Wii-tarded.

This is actually way cool. With the Wii controller clipped in, the more-natural tennis racquet feel will add substantially to the Wii Tennis experience! Naysayers, get the feck outta here.

now if only they had a good tennis game for the wii

Tennis is the greatest sport ever created.

seems pretty dangerous... Didn't they learn anything from the wiinjuries?sounds like it would gives more natural feel though.

At the rate in which we are entertaining ourselves, we're going to find out its cheaper and probably healthier just to do the actual exercise.

Next thing you know they'll have a "ball" accessory that you hit to make the ball move on the screen.... Then they'll come out with a "court" accessory that lets you hit the ball farther, so it goes farther on screen.
WHY would you want to buy a tennis racket to play virtual tennis? Isn't the point of a video game that you DON'T NEED THE SPORTING EQUIPMENT to play the sport? How far will this go? Will we see Wii football games require a helmet and shoulderpads?
Stupid. Just play the fricking game with the controller, dumbass. If you want to feel a real tennis racket in your hand, you can GO PLAY REAL TENNIS.
Kozzi @ Oct 2nd 2007 9:18PM
Can I play real-tennis with it ?

I think the only game in the Wii Sports package that needs an attatchment like this is Wii Golf. The wiimote is just awkwardly held as a golf club and would benefit from sort of extension. I've seen those wii extendable golf clubs on ebay, but they look cheap. These rackets look like they are nicely made.
AKBlade13 @ Oct 2nd 2007 9:41PM
Here I was thinking that they were making a Prince of Tennis reference.
I'll pass but it's still a good idea.

Typo at "as racker-maker Prince." Should be "racket," or more properly: "racquet." People who say this accessory is pointless aren't thinking about it properly. The extension and feel of a racquet would make the experience much more realistic and you'd get a better feel for it as a racquet. Though, I don't think the Wii Tennis experience should cost any more than it does (free) because it is shallow and doesn't last long unless you are in a party situation or something. I'd think about something like this when Mario Tennis, or another proper tennis game came out. As a tennis player and fan, I'm watching out for a proper tennis game... I wish they would at least announce a Mario Tennis sequel. We all know it's coming.
