The PSP is also my first hand held, and like you, I didn't even consider the DS as an option.

I primarily bought the PSP for its PMP capabilities, it is so nice being able to load multiple videos on a memorty stick.

The PSP wins for me because it is much more than a game player, it is an entertainment machine.
