I know some people were really put out by the lack or rumble in the SIXAXIS, so for them, I'm sure this will be a welcome change. For me, though, I just hope the current SIXAXIS isn't discontinued with the release of this one. I much prefer not having the rumble, and would rather not have that extra heft added.
If not, I can always do what I've always done to my DualShock2 controllers: Open them up and rip out the motors. That, or stock up on a few SIXAXIS now (and store them in the fridge for longevity, stupid Li-Ion batteries).
I've been meaning to do that with an XBox360 controller, as I mostly avoid playing with my friends 360 for lack of ability to disable the rumble. I've yet to justify buying a controller, though. :P

add a profile on your friends 360. under personal settings just turn off rumble. use that profile whenever your over. problem solved!
