lol double post.
So when will Sony be sued for exploding controllers?
i.c. weiner @ Sep 19th 2007 10:16PM
SPRING!?
Nate @ Sep 19th 2007 10:36PM
I love how this generation were freakin out about controllers.
i.c. weiner @ Sep 19th 2007 10:43PM
i wasn't freaked out, just excited
Nate @ Sep 19th 2007 10:46PM
I wasnt talking about you, i meant the whole video game community
Phillip J. Fry @ Sep 19th 2007 10:59PM
Oh man... I feel so bad... I ate your pizza over a thousand years ago!
i.c. weiner @ Sep 19th 2007 11:18PM
dude, phillip, WHAT?
Bender @ Sep 20th 2007 12:41AM
Because your name is the name on a pizza Fry ate on the pilot of Futurama when he fell into the cryogenic freezing chamber and his name for that post was (Phillip J. Fry... Fry's full name on Futurama). Get your futurama trivia down or get off the internet.
Paris @ Sep 20th 2007 8:04AM
Why is everyone getting highest ranked here?
Tony C @ Sep 20th 2007 8:14AM
Pssst... In case you didn't notice, he made his name "i.c. wiener", which along with prank phone call fodder, is also a reference to Futurama. It was the customer name for the pizza delivery at the cryogenics lab.
Not sure if he was trying to be funny or not, but whatever it was didn't look like it came across as planned.
Jon Rick @ Sep 19th 2007 10:17PM
Who cares?
LordFarkward @ Sep 19th 2007 10:29PM
best example of the numerous of trolls around the intertube... they just surf on whatever site, find out if they have a comment system, and if they do, just keep on bombarding the site with "why is this news?!?!", "who cares?!?!", and "are guys being paid for reporting this?!?!"...
get lost, trolls, just get the fuck lost.
bob @ Sep 19th 2007 10:36PM
I care...
SKI @ Sep 19th 2007 11:33PM
I will care, but I guess not until Spring 08.
MC @ Sep 19th 2007 10:21PM
Screw sony, its all about Halo 3 baby. Best game EVER!
Cosmos @ Sep 19th 2007 10:23PM
Worst comment ever.
Pentium @ Sep 19th 2007 10:41PM
I played Halo I and Halo II and it's not the best game ever as u speak!!
it's really normal game!!
Microsoft again..!
Josh @ Sep 19th 2007 10:50PM
It is a good game series but i wouldnt be surprised if the 3rd installment is as hyped up a product (or more) as the iPhone.
It would be nice to see it do well, i would definitely play it. However - this is completely off topic, if you want to go and flame sony do it on the xbox forums.
I am excited about dual shock coming back, the ps3 controllers feel way to light and somewhat weak without lead slabs rumbling inside them.
David W. @ Sep 19th 2007 10:22PM
haha I'm sorry...but both of the other consoles have had it since release...so it doesn't improve my perception any...
a ham sandwich @ Sep 19th 2007 10:27PM
wow. rumble. what a new invention that it makes sense it should be implemented so late in the product's life cycle.
Zak @ Sep 19th 2007 11:30PM
Nice one Sony! Good way to make your early adopters feel like it was worth their time splashing out all that money right away. Do an apple and give them rebates :-)
Fruition @ Sep 19th 2007 10:41PM
Well I sure hope the PS3's life cycle is longer than 1.5 years...
Andrew @ Sep 20th 2007 7:50PM
except... Again, US early adoptors are the ones screwing all you who waited, I have HARDWARE PS2 support. Kaythxbye.
Fruition @ Sep 19th 2007 10:29PM
Hopefully they'll slash the price of the old SIXAXIS and I'll make off with three of them on the cheap... I don't need rumble, if going without can save me a few bucks...
ryan @ Sep 19th 2007 10:33PM
my hope exactly. Except I'd be fine with just 1 or 2.
Pacos @ Sep 19th 2007 11:10PM
Good Point, if the regular SixAxis come down in price, I'll pick some up and then eventually get a couple rumbles...
Tyler @ Sep 19th 2007 10:30PM
cant wait
this will defintely be a good step for sony
thethirdmoose @ Sep 19th 2007 10:32PM
Ew... how last-gen
John @ Sep 19th 2007 10:32PM
how are the controllers different that other countries get them later...?
Wolfticket @ Sep 19th 2007 10:33PM
Oh no, I've bought a ps3 with 2 controllers at great expense just to find out that I now have to re-buy the controllers at great expense to get a feature that has been standard on games controllers for the best part of a decade.
Just kidding; I'd never by a ps3, can't afford it.
Josh @ Sep 19th 2007 10:54PM
Do what i did, get a friend who can and just leach off of their PS3. It comes loaded with 32 LCD TV, PS3 w/games, and you can even yell at each-other halfway through a death match.
HDTV - 1200$
PS3 - 600$
accesories - $$$$$$
Good friends that let you game on their new counsel - Priceless
Simon @ Sep 19th 2007 10:35PM
the last reason i need to buy a PS3! :)
Pentium @ Sep 19th 2007 10:38PM
good news!
modified @ Sep 19th 2007 10:40PM
Sucks for anyone who has bought 4 gimped controllers. Good news for those that don't want rumble because there will be a lot of cheap controllers on ebay.
CT A @ Sep 19th 2007 10:42PM
Will Sony give sixaxis owners $100 back for buying the controller with no rumble?
Terrence Newton @ Sep 19th 2007 10:43PM
yeh, i'm a fanboy.. i will definitely import a controller or two from japan. yeh i kno uncharted will support it, but that's not what it's about. i just want to hold that weighty new controller in my hand..
Jake R. @ Sep 19th 2007 10:52PM
Wow that would be really cool, if this was 1997.
SimbaDogg @ Sep 19th 2007 10:56PM
my sister is currently doing a no receipt exchange for the sixaxxis i have right now, brand new never been opened. i knew if it was going it was gonna happen today. better to get the full $50 worth of store credit @ best buy rather than 20 or 30 bucks in the future. yay for me
Sealobo @ Sep 20th 2007 9:09AM
i don't get it; what's the fig bucking deal??? Sony is bringing back a feature from the last century, so what?
Matt @ Sep 19th 2007 11:08PM
Could someone please explain to me the big deal over rumble feature in a controller? I honestly don't get it. Does a vibrator in your hand really add that much to gameplay?
Pacos @ Sep 19th 2007 11:17PM
Not really, it's just something less for people to complain about the PS3 not having(look, Sony is actually listening for those of you who say they turn a deaf ear to everything, than complain about how long it took...seriously).
If you ask me, its a perk for new owners who buy a PS3 with rumble in it. I've had my PS3 since launch and say honestly, I didn't miss rumble. I have surround sound with a great AMP and Subwoofer, you want rumble, do it that way! I guess it's an inexpensive way to make people think they have a mini sub/amp in their hands and can feel the blast of an explosion.
People feel what they feel, ya know?
David @ Sep 28th 2007 2:49PM
To be honest, when I bought the PS3 I didn't miss the good games, I was happy with my Call of Duty clone, especially with shuffled Perfect Dark weaponry. Even when the good games came people just complained that it wasn't enough...really people, get a grip (sigh).
See how I did that? I can propose an opinion, while at the same time condescending to those who oppose it, as if THEY are the ones who're being irrational! I sound like an ass even now don't I? This is you! Why should we give Sony quarter for legal issues of their own creation that prevented them from implementing what has become a standard in games for a decade? "Oh, seriously guys rumble doesn't add anything to games," what are you, a Sony parrot? That's analogous to "Rumble is so last gen."
Oh I'm sorry you're a gamer, and you love games, and you don't have a preference, and you own all three systems, and you don't like people railing against Sony even though they got what they wanted. This what comes of bad blood, when you're up you're up and when you're down you're down.
People wanted rumble, didn't get it, went along with their lives. Sony could've hinted at rumble in the future, so people could buy one or two controllers, save some places for shockers, but instead took a we're-too-good-for-rumble stance. Now it's been sprung on people, perhaps at a greater cost, and with a three month difference between Japanese and releases in North America and Europe. Suggesting that they might consider rumble in the future did not have to be presented as confessing a mistake, but that's what you'll hear as an excuse. Didn't they say that the motion sensing didn't work well with the rumble? Even if that wasn't true (there were skeptics on the web) they could've have claimed to, reconcile the two technologies, or that they were working on doing so, and perhaps rumble could be added in the future.
Seeing as how people aren't happy with Sony to begin with, this poorly calendar-ed reparation is sparking more complaints. These things may brush off you, but most people, if they are denied something they expected to receive, and when they are finally met with the hugely delayed response, only to reveal that what they want will be even further down the line, they won't enjoy it one bit. I don't see any good reason why Sony can't manage a worldwide launch for a controller.
Warwick @ Sep 19th 2007 11:12PM
I dont see what the big deal is. Rumble has never been a draw-card as a feature, for me at least.
I would rather them focus on producing quality games for the system rather than adding in an additional feature I hardly notice during normal gaming on any other system.
Rob @ Sep 19th 2007 11:23PM
I notice the rumble every time I play. For some reason the plastic in my controller is messed and every time the left rumble activates, you get the lovely sound of metal scratching across plastic. Gets my attention all the time, as I yell at it to shut up.
michas_pi @ Sep 24th 2007 9:11PM
Rumble was vital to finding secret treasures in Ocarina of Time...

How delicious that humble pie must be!
angelsvairwaves1 @ Sep 19th 2007 11:18PM
So...
two new thrice singles out today "firebreather" and "digital ocean"
seriously goood.
but off topic.
anthone @ Sep 19th 2007 11:27PM
Didnt kaz harai said in the beginning that rumble is the past and motion sensing is the future? What a loser trying to bring back dualshock. Idiot ate his own words and swallowed it.
Michael Mendoza @ Sep 19th 2007 11:33PM
I would like to buy one, try it out. Just FYI, you can import one from Japan to get it earlie, it might be a little more expensive that's all
Dan @ Sep 20th 2007 4:59AM
Earlie? Hey there fella, looks like you just invented yourself an ickle new wordie.
