Still, it's not just for gaming as it fully supports all the audio and video you'd expect in a new "pane-driven," UI which carousels your windows instead of lining them up in tabs -- a UI which will evolve in the coming months in line with
Ovi. On sale Q4 in Europe in an 8GB flash model (€431/$585) or €360/$490 pre-bunged with a 2GB microSD card. You did see our

Ahh reminds me of gaming on my Sony Ericsson W600. Same layout and all. Will the rumoured SE PSP phone please show up
so the SE had dedicated gaming buttons, 8gb flash and an internal 3d chip did it!
Nokia is getting more 'Sony Ericsson' oriented by the day. Their phones, their firmware.. copy cats. And are we really looking for a phone which can play Gameboy Color quality games? Didn't they learn with NGage?
While I agree that Nokia hardware styling is getting similar to S-E's, you can't say that S-E came up with some of the new features seen in their latest feature phone OS.
The new 3 soft key UI on the K850 for example has been used since S40 3rd (2005). And today screen has been used on MS's Pocket PC for years.
The N81 (like the N95, N93 and some other recent high-end Nokias) has a fairly powerful 3D graphics accelerator chip. At least in theory, the new games ought to be closer to a PSP in quality rather than a Gameboy Color.
Well Paul if so they should have used a better example because the shoot em up looks pretty 16-bit to me.
Dont really know what you are talking about - SE copies Nokias styling a few years back - it goes in circles.
Im a big fan of SE phones, but i always thought it was them chasing Nokia, not the other way around..
Nokia have been constantly pushing forward in every department, Better cameras, screens, gaming, multimedia.
I mean nokia have been around since text only screens.
Sony added a bunch of their other technology to cameras to try catch up with Nokia, Bravia screens, Cybershot cameras, and some of their mp3 wizardry.
I think a lot of symbian phones can play n-gage games, I used to play them on my 6600, It was a big underground hacking thing back in the day.
Its seemed pretty obvious to me at least that an n-gage phone would come along that was more like a phone and less like an n-gage gaming machine. So i dont see how its a rip off of any company at all.
Ill take a Nokia or a Sony Ericsson phone for free any day of the week, and be over the moon about it. Both make good phones, and i hope they keep pushing each other. This phone will just raise the stakes for the ps phone, nothing wrong with that.
But can it play Doom?
Yes, c2doom core available for all S60v3 phones. Runs well on the N95.
It's awesome to see the blend occurring between gaming devices and phones. I honestly thought it would happen the other way around, with communication functionality being added to our handheld consoles, but I'm just as happy with it this way as well. Now one of these phone companies needs to make deals to have a substantial handheld port library available and I am theirs heart, thumbs, and soul.
Geezus.. expensive.

Guys, does this one support TV-out?
I don't think this one does, but some of the other compatible devices, like the N93i.
Screen shot looks alot like the massive mech crab boss at the end of the lightning force/thunderforce III from sega genesis

I dont really care about its gaming capabilities.
I prefer a phone to look good and feel good as a phone and not as a gaming device.
If this phone is affordable, it will be a big hit, especially now that we have notice of the new nokia music store.
Only worth buying if it includes side-talkin'.
