PSP wireless heartbeat sensor hack
It's amazing what homebrew coders for the PSP are able to come up with, especially when you consider that the "solutions" don't really solve anything. If you've ever hankered for a heartbeat recognition ability for your portable gaming machine, then here it is. One guy called Art simply soldered a coiled copper wire across the microphone input, which allows it to pick up the signal from a wireless heartbeat sensor. The result isn't visually impressive -- he hasn't coded a graphical readout yet -- but it should definitely inspire confidence in the homebrew community's ingenuity. PSP pull-ups anyone?[Thanks, Wraggster]

That's pretty interesting I'll think about it when me and my friend are PSP hacking later lol. I think Sony should encourage people to hack the PSP's or atleast allow people to create programs for it like what Danger let's customer that have programing skills do with their sidekicks by giving developer keys to people who developer programs for it.

I'm sure someone in Sony is seeing this and saying "Hey guys, I guess we need another firmware update for tomorrow, they hackers can't be put down, they keep messing our PSPs...
derek @ Aug 26th 2007 12:40AM
Yeah since they are in Japan, I'm sure they can't use proper English grammar either.
ChrisG @ Aug 26th 2007 2:14AM
well even if Sony does make a firmware update all you need to do if downgrade your firmware in order to hack your psp.
rokerovakero @ Aug 26th 2007 3:37AM
Lol, we good some silly english professor idiots around here... thank god I really care if you understand or not, I bet you don't understand "chingas a tu madre" do you? go ask your teacher on monday lol
whoa... @ Aug 26th 2007 7:45AM
way to go man you fucked up grammer in Spanish too chingas is suppose to be chinga...so it's "chinga tu madre" and add a puto in there for more effect.
rokerovakero @ Aug 26th 2007 3:00PM
I don't know who you say it in your country or what but here in mexico we say chingas a tu madre in presente since the correct thing was "ve y chinga a tu madre" in futuro, why leave things for tomorrow when they can get done today?...

I've read this post about 6 times and I still don't understand what was done. If there's no graphical readout, how does anyone know that it is picking up anything? And where is the microphone input on a PSP? As far as I know (I just put my PSP down), there isn't one. Could someone clarify?
Me @ Aug 25th 2007 11:57PM
The microphone input is right next to the headphone jack, it's the same place that the remote gets plugged into.

I think it's okay to use the term Jesus without offending anyone, but then again you never know, Homer. You just might upset Ned Flanders. Haaaa ha.
Why is this site so uptight about spelling and grammar? It really doesn't matter all that much in the world at large. In NYC hardly anyone understands one another due to the fact there are so many languages being spoken. Probably half of the city is English illiterate to some degree. I'm not bragging about it, but that's just the way it is. I wouldn't dare go into some minority neighborhood telling them to speak English correctly or get the heck out of America. I think doing so would be sort of offensive to them and risky for me as well. Oh well, live and learn. I never read the forum policy, so maybe constantly correcting members' comments is acceptable behavior.

And you think that's okay? Proper communication is important in society. There's a reason we have the Modern Language Association. Granted, certain users (including myself at times) go overboard correcting people for tiny grammatical errors, but seriously... Hasn't anyone heard of proofreading? Take pride in your words!
Constable Odo @ Aug 29th 2007 1:16AM
Do I think it's okay? It really doesn't matter what I think. I could dislike it to hell and it won't change anything. I'm from a different time when there was a lot of emphasis on grammar, but I'm surrounded by people who think I'm strange, considered a bit too proper. It's far easier for me to make the language and grammar adjustment and go with the flow. Much easier for me to talk down than for the masses to learn to speak correctly. Ghetto-speak isn't that difficult to understand if you hear it and practice it enough. All those grammar rules can be a bit restricting and maybe downright awkward when expletives are being used all the time. ;)
