Halo 3 Xbox 360 pre-orders go live
Just two days after learning that the oh-so-covetable Halo 3-themed Xbox 360 would be landing next month, EBGames now has the console available for pre-order. Currently, the site is listing September 16th as the official ship date, but we wouldn't put too much stock into that number just yet. Coincidentally, Microsoft has also made known today that "over one million" copies of Halo 3 have been reserved in North America, which reportedly shatters "pre-order records in the video game industry." Also noteworthy is the tidbit about the "exclusive Halo 3 Gamer Pics and Theme" that comes bundled in with the special edition package, and while we doubt this minutiae will sway you one way or another, at least you now know precisely what your $399.99 will be buying.Read - Halo 3 Xbox 360 pre-order

This combined with the Halo 3 Zune will ensure that your virginity will last forever.
AlexP @ Aug 9th 2007 12:41PM
Thank God I only played Halo PC? :V
Mr. Vage @ Aug 9th 2007 12:57PM
Good thing I'm getting everything* except the Halo 3 Zune!
*Everything being: Halo 3 Legendary Edition, Halo 3 Xbox 360, both Halo 3 controllers, and the Halo 3 wireless headset.
And that will all go perfectly with my Halo Xbox, Halo, Halo 2 Collecter's Edition, Halo 2 Vista, and my Halo 2 headset!
mcatrage @ Aug 9th 2007 1:45PM
Mr. Vage is Bill Gate's wet dream.
GregA @ Aug 9th 2007 2:02PM
Last I checked Bill Gates was still in the top 5 richest people in the world. I could be wrong, but big bulging piles of cash is one of the things that women find undeniably erotic about men.
I am not trying to say that women are whores...
I'm just saying, Bill Gates doesn't have wet dreams anymore...
Zeus the God @ Aug 9th 2007 4:29PM
Well your trolling has set your virginity in cement, and dumped it in the ocean. Have a nice life.
Jagannath A @ Aug 9th 2007 10:19PM
OMG where has my comment gone ?????????
Mack Swift @ Aug 9th 2007 12:36PM
Throw in a copy of Halo 3, and sell the bundle for $400, and I'm sold.
Matt B @ Aug 9th 2007 3:55PM
I know. It's like buying a car, but the steering wheel is sold separately.
maveric101 @ Aug 10th 2007 3:31PM
not everyone wants to buy the same edition of Halo 3, idiot. and MS isn't about to release 3 versions of the Halo 360.
jeez. people should have to take an IQ test to post in forums.
Tyk @ Aug 9th 2007 12:38PM
Anyone want to calculate the interest earned on $5 million doallars ($5 per order) between now and the launch of Hay-Low-Three?
Arnie @ Aug 9th 2007 12:55PM
None of the companies actually take the money from you until they ship the product. So they cannot earn interest on it.
Mark @ Aug 9th 2007 12:57PM
Does it matter? Considering Microsoft has tens of billions of dollars just sitting there, somehow I don't think they're in it for that.
alexhrose71 @ Aug 9th 2007 1:17PM
Arnie,
EBgames etc. took $5 for the pre-order. $5 x 1 million preorders = $5 million in an account, right now, earning interest.
HineyWipe @ Aug 9th 2007 12:49PM
[sarcasm] Thanks MS DRM! As much as I would LIKE this, I see no reason in getting one, as I can't move my games and LIVE info from one Xbox to another. Brilliant marketing! Utterly Brilliant! [/sarcasm]
Zaivor @ Aug 9th 2007 3:37PM
Buy a hard drive transfer kit. and there you go.
Ricardo @ Aug 9th 2007 1:16PM
well, since when is Apple competing in consoles that the ifanboys have the gallantry to post on a X360 Halo related news post ?
Ray @ Aug 9th 2007 1:20PM
as aforementioned, throw in Halo 3 with this bundle and i'm sold too.
Phreak511 @ Aug 9th 2007 1:20PM
"Over one million copies" have been reserved in North America.
Assuming the game is $60 bucks, Microsoft just made $60 million dollars on ONE GAME in a single day.
No wonder video games are bigger than movies.
Zeus the God @ Aug 9th 2007 4:32PM
So everyone went out and pre-ordered Halo 3 on the SAME DAY?! Amazing. Must have taken thousands to coordinate such an effort.
lordofthedirectrix @ Aug 10th 2007 6:34AM
Zeus, think about what he said next time before making yourself look stupid =)
alexhrose71 @ Aug 9th 2007 1:21PM
Games and marketplace content are tied to your gamertag so sure you can move it console to console. I know it requires a Live connection to verify its you, but you can use it.
If that is just too difficult, have some balls and call MS. They will have you create a new silver account on the alternate console and issue you the value in MS credits of the titles you need to move over. It will be removed from your old XBL account though, but you aren't trying to copy games to other people's 360s, right ?...

w00t! Get ready to play Halo with better graphics all over again! I mean seriously, how much can you get of shooting aliens over and over and over? I really don't find it as fun as people make it sound like this game is. I could play any other FPS and get the same enjoyment out of it as playing Halo.
andy @ Aug 9th 2007 1:59PM
There's this service called XBOX LIVE where you can hook up with 15 other players (out of how many every million others), talk to each other, and run around shooting each other instead of AI targets like in all the other shooters.
You should look into it. It adds a lot of value to a game.
Adam K @ Aug 9th 2007 2:21PM
Well actually, there are new controls, new weapons, new vehicles, new maps, new game modes, new armor variations, a new films option, a new campaign with new enemies, and its on a new console with HD. I mean, other than all of that, I guess it's the same... I don't know why everyone insists that it's not worth playing because it's "the same as Halo 2." I think it's going to be great.
Secura @ Aug 9th 2007 2:22PM
Yeah....that can be fun for about a week or so, but I can do that in other FPS games too. Halo wasn't the first game to bring online multiplayer to the FPS genre.
Fruition @ Aug 9th 2007 3:06PM
It better not be the "same as Halo 2." Halo 2 was the biggest let-down ever... I loved Halo 1 and was thrilled at the prospect of a sequel... But Halo 2 was not that good at all, and it was missing an ending.
RedBull Runner @ Aug 9th 2007 10:53PM
"There's this service called XBOX LIVE where you can hook up with 15 other players"
Really now? And this is revolutionary? See, On BF2 and BF2142 i can hook up with 64 other players and do the same thing. and surely 64 is better than 15... hmm. ill have to look into that.
Adam K @ Aug 10th 2007 10:56AM
Well Halo 2 wasn't exactly 'revolutionary' but it sure as hell was fun for me. Having played the Beta a LOT at a friend's house, I know that this game will entertain. Since most of what people didnt like about Halo 2 was the lack of the Human Pistol, they should be happy to know that it's back, though slightly handicapped. (No scope on it) There is also more customization than ever before, and also a "Forge" mode which is comparable to Garry's Mod. Those are sure to make things more interesting for you.
nintendo fanboy hater @ Aug 9th 2007 1:43PM
first things first... mr vage get a life, seriously. Second its not even close to halo all over again. what do u play mario party 1-35
sdman @ Aug 9th 2007 4:37PM
Don't be hatin on Mario!
Zaki @ Aug 9th 2007 2:21PM
The fact that they are not including a copy of the freaking game Halo 3 is quite insulting.
They make Special Edition DS Lites in Japan that comes with a Final Fantasy game or a special PSP with MPO, etc.
If they made a FF-theme PS3, I'd expect the game with it.
alexhrose71 @ Aug 9th 2007 3:28PM
Uggh...
They are not including a copy of Halo 3 because...
...this is aimed at hardcore Halo fans, most will already have ordered the collectors edition or limited edition
..those that haven't may not want the pack in version, if one was selected....
sdman @ Aug 9th 2007 3:50PM
Halo 3 has to be 1 of the most anticipated games ever, I just hope it isn't a disappointment, because I've never heard of a redesigned version of a 360 (or any console for that matter) come out just because of one game!
Zeus the God @ Aug 9th 2007 4:36PM
Wanna' know why there is a Halo 3 themed 360? Because they are trying to milk the shit out of the worn out dog that is Halo. Its not because Halo is so great that they made it...
sdman @ Aug 9th 2007 9:46PM
But Nintendo is still makin' Zelda games! And those obviously aren't &%^& yet! As long as it's good, that's all I care about!
Me @ Aug 9th 2007 9:51PM
Actually, Microsoft made an Xbox for Halo 1. It's translucent green with the Halo logo on it. The controller is the same translucent green and instead of saying Xbox in the center, it has the Halo logo. The console was also bundled with a copy of Halo 1.
sdman @ Aug 10th 2007 10:42PM
Thank (excuse the pun) you for telling me that, wasn't really paying attention to Xbox back then so I didn't know that!
They should have a Twilight Princess themed Wii!
ed @ Aug 9th 2007 4:33PM
..., 20GB Hard Drive, ....
Huh? M$ wtf?
jroc @ Aug 9th 2007 4:42PM
I would get this in a second if it had aa proper hdd, I don't know what ms was thinking, the store bought 120gb wont even go in with the colours
ed @ Aug 9th 2007 6:36PM
@jroc - amen, sell 120 gb's, but retro back to 20gig to hook in those desperate enough? and no word on if it has an HDMI?
