Adding to the growing list of
chintzy plastic Wiimote accessories, this pool cue add-on seems like it could also be pretty useful for dramatically browsing the News Channel. The kit features an outer shell for the Wiimote and a three-piece shaft -- no word on what the tip is made of, but you can be certain that chalking it up won't help you sink that last shot.

The Wii Pool game in Wii Play relies on the pointer function of the remote. Unless the tip of this "cue" transmits that info back to the IR camera, I don't see how this would be of any use for Wii Play.

Nintendo Wii Fanboy had a much better article about this.

I doubt the attachment will block the IR pointing ability of the Wiimote (and if it does, then I agree that it'll be pretty useless).
I'd much rather a real full size pool table though (along with a house with a gaming room big enough to fit it properly too).

Imagine throwing THAT through a TV screen... This could lead to some pretty interesting injuries; people already do enough damage with the simple controller, so you hand them a lance? Wii jousting!

Why not just duck tape a Wiimote to pool cue? Duck tape fixes everything else, why not your non-realistic wii pool having woes?
GalaXy @ Jun 26th 2007 10:17AM
I agree. You could just duct tape the controller to anything. I love Wii.
jon @ Jun 26th 2007 2:40AM
does it vibrate too?

Great, now I can finally practice fencing.

Say it with me people, DUCT tape. No aquatic birds involved.

Duck Tape

(I know - I think it should be duct tape too, but technically one can get away with using duck tape in the same way as one can say sellotape or scotch tape instead of sticky tape)
dogarms @ Jun 26th 2007 7:36AM
well I'll be damned... must be an America-only brand. We don't get it in Aus, anyway!
BW @ Jun 26th 2007 9:35AM
if it vibrates im getting one,,, o yeah
rahul @ Jul 1st 2007 8:03AM
i dont think it'll be much use for other games...
the wii mote is also more suitable for playing pool...
Deluxe @ Jun 26th 2007 12:58AM
Are you kidding? I can think of atleast 5 other real-life sports games you can play with a pool-cue that could be adapted to the Wii!
HUKI365 @ Jun 26th 2007 3:35AM
Just think: fighting games.
cody @ Jun 28th 2007 8:30PM
JUST THINK: Soul Caluibur for the Wii.
