that's wat i've noticed about the PS3 too. when i saw the video of the PS3 being opened when the PS3 launched in Japan i was AMAZED. That is why PS3 stays so cool. Sony's engineers are smart, they know that bigger fans cool better AND put more load on the motor. When the fan blades put more load (weight) on the motor, the motor goes slower thus being quieter, but at the same time helps it keep quiet. That's why 360 is SO loud. My little brother has a 7600GT graphics card in his PC and DAMN that thing is LOUD on full load because it has a tiny fan.
