Retractable Wii Sports Cuff enables flinging action
We shouldn't have to remind you just how hazardous free-hanging Wiimotes can be to the health and safety of those around you, but if you or your loved ones have suffered from an unfortunate Wiinjury, a solution has finally arrived. For those of you with the stronger, beefier Wiimote straps, keeping the controller gripped around your wrist can indeed become boring, which is where the Retractable Wii Sports Cuff enters to inject a bit of remote slinging excitement into the equation. The wrist-worn cuff allows your attached Wiimote to be flung "up to 13-inches," and it automatically brings it back to safety before (literally) getting too out of hand. The neoprene cuff looks to be a one size fits all edition, and while we've no idea if you can hack this bad boy to add a bit more length (you know, for real life Wii Rodeos), you can snap up the original right now for just $5.99.

I never liked retractable cords like that. I remember I was playing with one on my mom's iron, and the freakin cord came back and whiplashed me!

I would think a wiimote lashing back at you would hurt a lot more, too!
Not to mention it'd probably cause you to fail at your game...

*sighs* Holy crap people. I've had my Wii for about 3 weeks now. Playing with it every day for about a couple hours each session. Not once has it slipped from my hands. Not once. The way the media as reported this you'd think ninjas were trading in their shrunkins for Wiimotes. Looks like with a hacked sports cuff ninjas can now get their wiimote back after inflicting a killing blow to the groin or forehead. Gah.

Ahh I thought the same..Breaking straps..load of rubbish.
Then one lads night involving beer. One smashed remote during a game od wii tennis. The straps do break.
Not that I would buy this gimmick, beer and wii do mix but with smashing results :-)

I'd like to know what kind of twisted genius it takes to conjure up an accessory that encourages people to fling an already lethal projectile even harder and purposely let go.
