Don't bother picking up a PS3, PS4 is right around the corner

In response to some fairly bogus claims by an "analyst" last week, Sony has come out of the woodwork to state that yes, it is indeed planning to build a PlayStation 4, but not until at least 2010. Therefore, by taking this quote completely out of context, we have deduced that there's a mere three year wait for some next-next-gen goodness, which can be easily tide over by FFXII, GTA and SotC. However, were we to actually do our job, we would let you know that in the interim Sony is planning on firmware upgrades for the PS3 to expand media center capability, allow third party applications, and to support third party controllers similar to that of the Wii. "To say that there will be no PS4 because of a management change is a bit far fetched," says Paul Holman. He also went on to mention the possibility of a keyboard and mouse bundle with the PS3, predict at least 20 new games for the European PS3 launch, and to tout that schmancy Cell processor under the hood. We're standing by for a PR cleanup crew any moment now.

Hmmm, Sony has released this 40GB model that has NO backwards conpatibiliy for ps2 games and the 80GB one can only play 70% of the PS2 games. What would happen when they release the PS4. They would have 2 package the cell broadband engine aswell as the PS4 engine, think of the price..or mabye ur just better off gettin a PS2, PS3 and emulate the PS4 on the PC.

As far as what i have read about ppl sayin sony overcharges well that may be true to some extent but sence we are talkin bout the ps3 and gaming side of it all. I dont mind payin a lil extra price. I save money on the FREE online gaming that is offered on the PlaystationNETWORK were if I had a XBox I would have to pay for all the online gaming. So to me it feels worth giving sony a lil extra as far as the one time cost of a product for the infinate Free online i get on the ps3 network for my gaming.

2010 means 2013 for Playstaion. Why do everyone whines about the price of the PS3. It's a deal given all the things it is capable of. I think people are just too fuckin' stupid to understand basic arithmetic. These are probably the same people who has left the current economy in it's current condition. People who writes these articles about consoles tout about how the xbox360 is $199 compared to sony's $399. When you buy all the stuff microsoft stripped from the console it's back to it's original price. The PS3 is more powerful and it doubles as a Blu-ray player and I don't think blu-ray is going anywhere. I prefer to watch a movie on my big screen in blu-ray than dvd, simply cause it has better audio and video. Download service won't make blu-ray obsolete. Why would someone spend $25 to buy a 2-day long blu-ray download and then burn a copy to a generic disc, when you can buy a $25 blu-ray disc with all the professional artwork and cover then rip to hard drive. Currently faster downloads are like $60/month and I ain't ready to spend all that. And there ain't shit wrong with PS3 titles with the exception of HAZE. PS3 decision makers were on crack when they decided to release that shit. Resistance1 & 2 was off the hook. Uncharted was excellent, MGS4 was visually amazing like the others. GTA IV was hella cool. Motorstorm was good. Even non PS3 exclusives looked gorguese to me. 2010 is way to early to release a new consoles. Sony need to release alot more games and mind-blowing exclusives for it's PS3. I got a PS3 and I'm hungry for alot more good titles for my PS3.

the ps4 will have usb 3.0 (super speed) bluetooth 3.0 (superspeed)

the bluetooth 3.0 should enable playing movies (bluray) without having to connect the ps4 to your tv and if thats true (on there site they sad it goes up to 24 frames per second) then they would have to make it realy fast because many people would whant to buy it

and usb 3.0 should got to 30 frames per second so you wont need hdmi any more

Keep in mind thats the max fps it can go to so it might lagg, but you get the idea on how ps4 will be when it comes out (i estimate it will come out 2015)

I don't think Engadget is Sony bashing on purpose. Sony is under major scrutiny for heavy factual evidence. All major gaming and electronics blogs and websites are commenting with the same criticisms. It is a console war right now and much of the focus is on the negatives. That's the nature of the beast.

Everyone who bashes Sony has a right to do so. PERIOD. Sony's lack of respect for its customers and continuous selfishness is all the reason I need. Rootkits, explosive batteries, overpriced electronics. Did you know what our Sony Rep told me when I asked him why their computers were so much more expensive. He said it's the "software." He told me all about the video editing software and super high end video software that they include. Instead of giving consumers the choice of what software they want to buy. They bundle their own crap software and then overcharge for it. This is typical Sony thinking. It's never about what they can do for the consumer it's always about how much money the can screw out of us. Don't worry, tho, Sony's not the one who's on my sh*t list. Microsoft still is a little. I still think their software department sucks. But they've redeemed themselves a lot with their hardware department. The Zune was a bad turn though. Either way, my point is that Sony deservers every bit of bad press that they can get. It's the only way their going to change their ways and stop screwing everyone (except me). Honestly due to the complete lack of any decent products right now on the market. They should really just close down shop.

Nintendo will be the first out of the gate with a new console; outside of Zelda (which took 4+ years to make) the Wii games are getting shit reviews; mainly because the controls suck, lack of AI, no physics, and worst graphics than XBOX. Look up Splinter Cell DA, Red Steel, or Marvel UA reviews to see what i mean.

Day one, Wii graphics are already below the standards of the XBOX but better than PS2. Things are going to get pathetic really fast; think about 1 or 2 years from now.
