It would be a good thing to make it standard. That way the developers can count on it being there, whether they use it or not. That is not the luxury with some of 360 units, since there are still a few out there with no HD. The developers can incorporate HD features without worrying about making their games be able to work with non-HD systems. Which makes them cut HD features out of games.
Plus if they do put in a HD. It won't be that much more expensive than a 360. If you factor in the $100-150 HD DVD attachment needed to watch HD movies. Which the PS3 will have Blu-Ray built-in. Also makes it look like a cleaner system.
